Pics from Mount Etna
Published on November 30, 2005 By AvantiTexan In Vacations

In the very spot we are standing, lava used to shoot out of the crater! You can tell it has been dormant for awhile because of the plants growing on the sides. There was also a family of ladybugs on the rocks near where we are standing.

This is where I almost died! Notice how the clouds had completely covered the view behind me.

This is our friend Stefano. He is from Catania. You can see the different deposits from different eruptions because of their varying colors based on mineral amounts. I later hiked to that second crater you see in the background besdie Stefano's head.

Here I am hunting chestnuts on the way down the mount. Notice the black ground? The leaves on the ground, the trees and the black soil made for a breath taking scene.

Beautiful pics, Jeremy.

The crater is amazing. What an experience.

Mom and I have discussed whether you might be getting fat (but you are to never discuss the same about us! hehe) because she says you're always eating when she calls. Haha. Turns out you're not fat. Congratulations! Hahahahahahaa.

Love you.

PS - Where are the pics of your beautiful wife?

Haha. Yep. The only time I'm in a picture is when I am sleeping all slack jawed and drooling and Adrian decides to capture the moment forever. Grr.

Yeah, she always seems to call right around lunch or dinner, it is so strange. I promise (sorta of) that I don't eat all the time (well, most of the time)! If pressed to be honest, I have put on a few pounds here. The high pasta diet really sticks with me. Amanda and I have cut out eating pasta at home, which has helped.

Turns out you're not fat. Congratulations! Hahahahahahaa.

Thanks! : )

Here's my beautiful wife! We are standing in front of a fountain in downtown Catania. Right behind the fountain is a huge open air fish market, yum!

Gid,

He's a guy! She's prolly holding the camera on many of those pics (spoken from experience...lol)

'Tis the season to be truthful...I believe we only have on pic of her on Mount Etna, I took it so naturally it didn't turn out reallly good! It is also true that I am a guy, which works out nicely since I was a boy at birth.

Sis,

PS - You remind me a lot of Pa.The Sullivan is strong in you. Hehe.

Yeah, there have been several people who have said that about me. Even the Italians, when they see our family pics, always say that I look like him. I don't mind, I pretty fond of the guy! : )
