Since I am fairly new around here, I would like to know how many M*A*S*H fans we have out there in JUland.

To arrive at such an end, here is a quick quiz for all those mashers out there:

1. Who do you prefer as the company clerk: Radar or Klinger?
2. What is your favorite potterism?
3. Who worked his way through med school selling burial plots?
4. Name five famous people who made guest appearances on M*A*S*H.
5. Who do you prefer as commander, Henry Blake or Sherman Potter?
6. Who is the only reoccurring character to actually have fought in the Korean War?
7. What is Pierce’s nickname and how did he get it?
8. What is the name of Pierce’s sister and mother?
9. Where are the outside scenes of M*A*S*H shot?
10. Why was Spearchucker dropped from the show after season one?

Could go on and on and on, but would love to hear some brain teasing M*A*S*H questions from you!

Peace!

I was thinking just the other day, there may be, in fact, more references to his sister/mother than there are to him being an only child without a mom.

I guess that was just a plot blunder on the part of the writers then.

I don't think so. He constantly mentions his father and that he is the only parent.

He might have a sister. He is often joshing around.

Has anyone ever read the book by Richard Hooker? It was a riot.
A lot of the plotlines for the early seasons of the TV show were siphoned, partially or directly, from it.

I haven't read any of the books, it is on my to do list though. How many of the MASH books have you read?

You could be right. Especially in the later episodes, he tends to lean on his only child/only one parent background.

I really think we need to chalk this one up to a writing blunder like Dr. Guy says. Wives change names, brothers and sisters come and go, it is just really hard to keep a story line running for 11 years and not make some mistakes.

True. I had a trivia book about M*A*S*H at one time, there was a whole chapter called, "And You Thought We Weren't Paying Attention". It was filled with mistakes made from one episode to another.
